Picking the right Beachbody workout

If you’ve never heard of the different Beachbody workout programs, look no further! Here are brief descriptions of my most popular workouts. Read through and see which one fits best with your fitness style and goals.

22 Minute Hard Corps

This program has exercises that are inspired by military workouts! Each workout is only 22 MINUTES and they incorporate both cardio + strength training. The only equipment you’ll need is a sandbag, which comes with the program!! You’ll also get a portion control based meal plan and recipes! In addition to that, you get to choose whether you want to add Shakeology (which helps increase energy, improve digestion & curb cravings!!) OR Energize (the best preworkout ever!!) & Recover (the most delicious chocolate post-workout shake!) to your bundle!!

Master’s Hammer & Chisel

Hammer & Chisel is a lifting intensive workout where the goal is to build lean muscle to boost your metabolism and get “chiseled”! The program is 60 days long and each workout is only 30-40 minutes.

What’s really awesome about this program is the meal plan. It comes with 3 different meal plans based on your goal (lose weight, gain weight, build heavy muscle) and they are all focused on portion control. You even get portion controlled containers to help you out with it!

Cize

Cize is an amazing choreographed dance workout! Shaun T walks you through every move before you put the entire dance together and “Cize it up” at the end of the 30-45 minute workouts. This program is a blast and you work up a big sweat, too! Cize is perfect for anyone trying to lose some weight and get in a workout without realizing it because it’s so much fun! A portion controlled meal plan also comes with this program.

21 Day Fix

21 Day Fix is an awesome program that has only 30 minute workouts. These are focused on cardio & strength training, so you will notice weight loss and toning. Every day you will focus on something different (cardio, plyometrics, upper body/lower body, yoga, etc.) which keeps the program fun and effective! The best part about this program is the meal plan. You will receive a meal plan that tells you what to eat, when to eat it, and how much to eat. You will even get portion controlled containers to help measure your food. The program only lasts 21 days but you can repeat it as many times as you want to continue to see results.

I say the same explanation but explain that the workouts are more intense and the meal plan is stricter.

Insanity Max: 30

Insanity Max: 30 is simply amazing. You’ve likely heard of the original Insanity; it’s a lot like that but all of the workouts are 30 minutes long and the goal is to “max out”! Maxing out means that you push yourself as hard as possible from the first second of the workout until you must take a break to rest, get water, etc. That is your “max out” time. Every day you will record yourself at the point that you go as hard as we can but need to rest; and try to get a little further each day. The workouts are mostly cardio but there is high intensity interval training as well as tabata-style strength training which makes this program super effective for people looking to lose weight and tone up. Insanity Max:30 also comes with a meal plan that is designed for portion control.

P90X3

P90X3 is one of my favorite programs! Each workout is only 30 minutes so it’s perfect for people who are busy or who need something quick. Plus it comes with 5 programs within the one. You can choose whether you want to do: General, Lean, Doubles, Mass, or Bulk. So depending on your goals you could start with Lean then go to General or do Doubles to super quick results! Tony Horton is the trainer and while he has some super lame jokes, I really like his training style.

PiYo

PiYo is quickly becoming my favorite program! The goal of PiYo is to help strengthen, lengthen, and tone your entire body. They are very low impact workouts which are nice for your joints but still high intensity. PiYo is perfect for beginners, for those who need a break from high impact exercises, and for those who want to kick their yoga practice up a notch! I get bored with how slow yoga is but I love what it does for my body, so PiYo is the perfect match. The workouts vary between 15-45 minutes long and the trainer is Chalene Johnson who I LOVE. *Excellent for anyone who just had a baby and want to increase core strength before starting a higher-impact workout!

TurboFire

TurboFire is a kickboxing style! The workouts are fun, the trainer is so enthusiastic, the music is upbeat, and I have a few close friends who saw awesome results with this. TurboFire is a combination of kickboxing and dancing and is ideal for those looking to lose weight. The workouts vary from 10-55 minutes long. They are pretty intense but there is a modifier that you can follow if you ever need to.

P90

P90 is the newest P90X-series workout program that was just released! It’s for beginners who aren’t ready for the ‘extreme’ workouts in P90X but still want to see results. However I did one of these workouts and was sore for 2 days after! The workouts range between 20-45 minutes long and is perfect for people who want to lose weight and build lean muscle. It comes with a meal plan that you can customize to fit your goals.

T25

T25 is a cardio circuit training program that helps with weight loss and toning. It’s very much like an intense bootcamp style workout. The greatest thing about T25 is that every workout is only 25 minutes long. So if you are busy or short on time, the length of the workout is not an excuse. Everyone can squeeze in 25 minutes to workout! This program has personally been a favorite of mine and SHREDDED my body in a very short amount of time. But it's usually a bit intense for a beginner so this is a nice second or third round program!

Body Combat

Body Combat is an amazing program that is designed to burn fat. It’s focused on kickboxing and tae kwan do moves and is really fun! It’s much less dancing than TurboFire and is designed to burn fat fast! I’ve had clients that lost 60 pounds with this program.

Chalean Extreme

Chalean Extreme is a cardio + strength training program that is designed to burn fat to boost your metabolism and build lean muscle.There are 3 different phases that get more intense as the program goes on. The phases are called: Burn, Push, Lean, and there is cardio mixed in too – which kind of gives you an idea of the workouts. Chalene Johnson is the trainer and I LOVE her! She is so enthusiastic and motivating.

Body Beast

Men LOVE this program! Body Beast is a program that focuses on burning fat and building muscle. To do this, workouts contain lifting with combinations of various sets, reps, resistance, and short recovery.When following this program and the meal plan that it comes with, it’s capable of adding ten pounds of lean muscle in 90 days.
