Time for YOU.

Finding the time to do the things you want to do or want to focus on can feel hard when you don't have any structure or boundaries in place in your life. What do I mean? Today, I'm breaking down two areas that are critical to align yourself with finding time for YOU as a busy mom or woman.

Do you have a set time that you wake up each day? Or do you snooze til whenever or wait for your kids to wake you up? I can tell you that when I started waking up an hour before my kids each day (and it's not always perfect), I felt amazing! What would it feel like to you if you knew and were guaranteed to have an extra hour to yourself each day no matter what? #worthit

How about grocery shopping? Do you wing that or are you planning out what meals and snacks your family will have ahead of time?

I used to wing it. Then I had a child with allergies who I had to prepare food for before I went to work and he was left in the care of family members. As a mom I had to feel he was protected and that I was doing all I could to keep him safe. So I began planning out our food and realized how much time I saved by doing this. Sure it takes time to sit down and figure out what you will buy, yes it takes an hour or two in the kitchen a couple days per week.

Here's how you have to wrap your brain around structure: it creates freedom.

If you are not also setting boundaries around your free time, for example if your child who won't nap is consuming all of your energy and you don't have 20 minutes to yourself all day long, it is your responsibility to set a schedule with that child and have them rest in their room with a book or, gasp, a movie (yes, I do that) while you spend some time focusing on what you need.

Again, freedom right there.

Things won't be perfect right off the bat. You'll mess up, you'll get it wrong and you'll feel defeated. The key is that this all takes practice. Instant gratification is not what you'll get here. So, do your best, find some time for YOU and set those boundaries that allow this to happen.
